Any good/bad reviews on Umbrella Chronicles for Wii?

I really want to get Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles for Wii after just finishing Res Evil 4. I want to get the game, but I’m afraid it may differ from other RE games. Does anyone have the answers I’m looking for!!??

The main thing is that it closely resembles a Time Crisis game, where the character moves to a set point and you stop while zombies come for you. You shoot them until you clear the area, and then your character will move to the next point (on-rail shooter), as opposed to the free-roaming exploring you get from other RE games. It got above-average reviews and is a pretty good Resident Evil game.

I was in the exact same boat as you not too long ago. I beat Resident Evil 4, loved it, and subsequently purchased Umbrella Chronicles without a second thought. Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles is an On-Rails style first-person shooter game whose plot revolves around several events that transpire in Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil, and Resident Evil 3. The On-Rails shooter style means you can't move the character you play as, just where they look (even this is rather limited, with the nunchuck only moving the first person camera a few degrees in any given direction); it's fairly similar to the House of the Dead franchise style in this way, along with what I'm sure are many other first person shooters. Resident Evil 4 on the other hand is a third person game that's a little more action/adventure than shooter (though it certainly has much more shooting than previous Resident Evil games). I've heard Umbrella Chronicles described as a love letter to Resident Evil fans who want a little something extra from some of the previous games and want to see the series in a new light, that being a first person shooter. Umbrella Chronicles is a fairly difficult game, even on the normal setting. I'd say the bigger the TV the better, since accuracy with the Wii remote is key. When you're not trying to get a critical hit by nabbing a zombie right between the eyes, you're fighting one of many vicious bosses, or possibly smashing every light and painting you see in the hopes that there is an item to help you behind them. If this sounds like the type of game you're interested in, I'd say Umbrella Chronicles is a pretty safe bet for a game that has quite a bit of replay value, in the long(ish) run. Hope this helps!
